Care & Handling

Hat Care & Handling Guide

Welcome to our comprehensive care and handling guide, designed to help you maintain the beauty and durability of your hat. By following these simple tips, you can ensure that your hat remains in perfect condition for years to come.

General Care

To preserve the quality and shape of your hat, we recommend adhering to the following general care instructions:

  • Dryness is Key: Always keep your hat dry. Avoid exposure to rain or moisture, as this can compromise the material and shape of your hat.
  • Proper Storage: Store your hat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Continuous exposure to sunlight can fade the color and weaken the material.
  • Handle With Care: Be gentle with your hat. Avoid crushing, folding, or bending it, as this can cause irreversible damage.
  • Storage Solutions: When not in use, store your hat on a flat surface or in a hat box to offer extra protection and maintain its shape.
  • Travel Tips: Unless specifically noted as packable, avoid placing hats in a suitcase. If necessary, support the hat's shape by packing lightweight items inside the crown and surround it with soft items to maintain its form.

Cleaning Instructions

Follow these cleaning recommendations to ensure your hat looks its best:

  • Spot Clean Only: Use a clean, damp cloth to gently wipe off dust and small dirty spots. For more stubborn spots, a white artist eraser can be employed to carefully remove dirt. Avoid colored erasers, as they might transfer color onto the hat.
  • Lint Removal: Utilize a lint roller or double-sided tape to effortlessly remove dirt particles and lint from your hat, ensuring a clean appearance.

Brim Reshaping

Select hats may require brim reshaping. Here’s how to gently bring it back to life:

  • Flatten the Brim: Attempt to flatten the brim by placing heavy items on it while laying on a flat surface. This method is gentle and effective for slight adjustments.
  • Ironing & Steaming Precautions:
      • Use Steam or Iron Safely: Avoid placing the iron or steam directly on your hat. Instead, apply them without direct contact for safe use.
      • Protective Layer: Place an old towel of neutral color between the hat and the steam source to prevent direct contact.
      • Steaming Technique: Gently steam the underside of the brim, flip the hat, and lightly steam the top. Afterwards, place the hat on a clean, flat surface. Use your hands to shape the brim to your desired form. If flattening, press down firmly and allow it to dry flat.
